Construction Update
South Bank takes shape with significant construction progress
The construction work at South Bank has made great strides over the past month across the entire site. We’re especially thrilled with the planting work that’s been taking place across all neighborhoods and amenities.
In addition, work has begun on the central communal areas of the Launch neighborhood in preparation for completion of Boathouse buildings D & E around January 2024.
The Lagoon
experience
The final phase of the Lagoon marine works is in sight, with the last polishing scheduled following the completion of the sill at the Lagoon entrance. While the work is taking place, there may be a temporary period of cloudy water and silting. Once the landscaping and the beach treatments are fully in place, this will naturally dissolve. The marine team are closely monitoring the process to ensure the turquoise waters and ecosystem of the Lagoon are protected.
Final marine
works
The Lagoon has now received the majority of the sand that will make up the beach areas, with a regular program of beach raking and manicuring now in place. With completion of the sill work, the beaches and the base of the lagoon will be graded and the areas of silt wash-off will be dredged once more. Additionally, the southern edge of the Lagoon will be protected with natural stone cladding as soon as the balance of the structural works surrounding the spa treatment pods is concluded. These processes will mark the final phase of the Lagoon marine works.
South Bank
connected
The pathway between the Clubhouse, the islands and the Ocean boat docks is about to commence, with completion due by the end of summer. This passage will include bicycle and golf cart parking. Landscaping from LV18 to the Gym will be complete by late summer, and from the gym through to the Club by Christmas.
The entrance to the island bridges as well as the final island layouts and furnishings are also underway and will be completed by the end of summer.
The second phase of works connecting the islands is also ongoing. The big island hardscaping works will be complete before Christmas and will include a seated paved area in the coconut groves, a small tiki bar, mood lighting, an additional lounging deck and final grading of the beaches.
The small island hardscaping will be undertaken at the same time and will include a paved seating area in the coconut groves, with two sunset fire pits, mood lighting and final grading of the beaches.
Landscaping to the remaining Lagoon Villas will be completed in line with the delivery of the final houses in August and early September, at which point a final grade will be done to the beaches and, where necessary additional, soft landscaping will be added.
Five-star facilities
coming soon
South Bank’s gym is nearing completion and should be fully open to owners and guests by the end of the summer. The build of the spa facilities – complete with four treatment rooms, changing rooms, a relaxation deck, a reception area and a boutique – is also progressing well and will be fully operational by Christmas. With the ground broken for the Clubhouse and the floor slab imminently complete, we expect the building and landscaping to be completed by February 2024 with restaurant and resort opening in March 2024.
